Montenegro meets all major NATO accession requirements, Slovenian Ambassador says

Podgorica, Montenegro (18 January 2012) – Slovenia will continue to provide political, expert and other support to Montenegro’s EU and NATO bid, Ambassador Vladimir Gasparič told Deputy Prime Minister Duško Marković at a meeting earlier today.

Bearing in mind that Slovenia is Montenegro’s contact country for NATO, Ambassador Gasparič in particular praised Montenegro’s progress in that field, empasising that it has met all the major NATO accession preconditions.

DPM Marković noted on the occasion that the Government's efforts in the coming period will be focused on the successful implementation of adopted legislation.

The meeting also discussd the soon opening of the Slovenian Consulate in Bar, which is another proof that Montenegro and Slovenia cherish partnership and close bilateral cooperation.
